As the prime contractor, ASW completed a Tier 1 investigation of the Former Lincoln AFB. This site contained a series of USTs used to capture jP4 jet fuel from refueling bombers in the staging area of a former USAFB. ASW oversaw completion of twenty monitoring wells designed to delineate the extent of free project on the site.
This project combined several spill numbers into a single contract to save time and money for the client. Additionally, all but two of the 14 overflow tanks were closed with no further action.
Tohono O'odham
The Tohono O’odham Indian Nation of Arizona awarded ASW a contract to develop a quality assurance/control plan for the former Minerec Mining Chemical Facility in Tucson, AZ.
ASW's other duties as part of the contract include: developing and implementing a community relations plan; developing a work plan; and developing a sampling plan.
The facility is being investigated under a Brownfield’s Demonstration Pilot Project awarded to the Tohono O’odham and funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region IX.
